Sometimes Assyria was called as Subartu and after its fall it was called as Athura, Syria and Assuristan.

There was a developed civilization in China between the Wei River and the Yellow river during 5000 BC. They had many problems because of the Yellow river as floods came in occasionally. Those floods were able to make the land fertile and the ancient Chinese people got the opportunity to harvest along the river. People also started farming in the Hubei Basin and those people did not have problems with occasional flooding. Because of these floods, people started organizing in order to develop their life.

The people who lived in ancient Greece thrived nearly 4000 years ago. The civilization was based on Europe and today the area is known as Bulgaria and Turkey. The rulers of the Greek civilization were in thirst of capturing other civilizations. So the empires spread their culture all over the Europe. Nobody could defeat them and they were the most powerful civilization that lived on earth between 2000 BC to 146 BC.

The ancient Egypt civilization was one of the greatest civilizations that survived in the past. The people started their first settlements along the Nile River in the northeast corner of Africa. Nile River is the longest river in the world and starting from Central Africa, it flows to the Mediterranean Sea. The occasional flooding of the river made the land fertile and the Egyptian people lived with farming on this fertile land. More than 95 percent of the Egyptians live in the Nile valley even today.
